(sept 2010) We had briefly discussed the home monitoring devices that were used by some members of the group.
Doug brought his monitor in to show everyone. He told us that the hospital gives him a “time slot” in which to send the information to them. He demonstrated how the leads connected to the phone and then the “mouse” was placed on his chest. He told us that the task was generally completed in a few minutes and whilst this was going on he could relax in the comfort of his own home.
Doug was very positive about the home monitoring because his day was not taken up with travelling and out patient appointments.
