Airport Security

Many thanks to Sarah for sharing her recent experiences…

just returned from hol flying out from Cardiff Airport. They have a new security scanner which is deemed safe for medical implants. I hadn’t heard about this before flying and was quite dubious about standing in it.

Was given this leaflet:

http://www.cardiff-airport.com/uploads/security/Security%20scanner%20information.pdf and http://www.cardiff-airport.com/airport-security/

When you get to the security check, you must still show your ICD card and let them know you have an ICD/pacemaker device, they take you around the side of security, ask you to remove shoes, then stand in the new scanner with hands above your head. anything metal shows up yellow on their screen. (device didn’t show, funnily enough!)…
Hadn’t heard about this or read anything about it until turned up for flight, so thought you guys may be the same…
Sarah:)

Best wishes
Sarah
